Aotea Square
Aotea Square is situated half way up QueenStreet on the right just past the Sky City Metro and before the TownHall. At the Queen Street entrance is a gateway in wood and copper by Selwyn Muru a maori sculptor that is a kind of expressionist version of a traditional maori entry gate. It is often regarded as the centre of the city. The Aotea Square Market is open every Friday and Saturday from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
To the south of the square stands the 1966 Administration block of the AucklandCityCouncil along with the entry to MyersPark.
