The Auckland Electric Power Board Building
The Auckland Electric Power Board Building was built in 1930, and is a landmark of Queen Street. It is located at 187 - 189 Queen Street. In 1987 it was registered as a Historic Place, category 1.
The building, with a turret in one corner, was owned by the Auckland Electric Power Board, which at the time provided electricity to the entire isthmus.
Today, the building is sandwiched between two modern glass office blocks. The foyer is a public space, and open to visitors.
