The old boys on the block - Marbeks has been around since 1934. They have 2 stores in the QueensArcade down the bottom of QueenStreet. One store is for popular music while the other is classical and what they call 'interactive' = DVDs and games.

RealGroovy
The closest thing in NZ to a music megastore, Real Groovy is new on the ground floor and used in the lower level. Also carry DVDs, Games, Books, and mags as well as having a nice vinyl collection. Good place to pick up all the info on who's playing where and when. They also sell tickets to shows. Also have shops in Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. More...
